Dr Rafael Rosell honored with Raymond Bourgine Award from the International Congress on Anti-Cancer Treatment (ICACT)

Barcelona 2 February 2012 –Dr Rafael Rosell has been awarded the 2012 Raymond Bourgine Prize for Achievements in Cancer Research in recognition of his numerous contributions to medical and translational oncology throughout his long career. Raymond Bourgine was a well-known French journalist, author and former Paris official who died of cancer in 1990. He was a passionate supporter of cancer research and the award was created by his family to recognize exceptional scientific achievements.
 
Dr Rosell is one of two eminent international oncologists honored by ICACT this year for their important contributions to research, clinical practice and improving cancer treatment. Dr Sandra Swain from Washington, U.S.A received the 20th Claude Jacquillat Award for Clinical Cancer Research. Dr Rafael Rosell is Head of Medical Oncology at the Oncology Institute Dr Rosell, USP Dexeus University Institute; Head of Medical Oncology at the Catalan Institute of Oncology, Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol; Chairman and Founder of Pangaea Biotech S.L; President and Founder of the Spanish Lung Cancer Group.
